Tall Tales
To Be There
The Transformers: Mosaic project is a fan-based project to get artists and writers working together to create fancomics.
Below is my piece, entitled ‘To Be There’ all about Astrotrain! This was part of a series set around the time of the IDW miniseries Megatron: Origin. I tried to make it self-contained and make sense even if you hadn’t read the mini. Did I succeed? Well, its up to you. Writing by me, Art by a rather fantastic artist I met over the internet, and colours by my buddy Mark.

Duel
The Transformers: Mosaic project is a fan-based project to get artists and writers working together to create fancomics.
Below is my piece, entitled ‘Duel’ featuring Slugslinger! Written, drawn and coloured by… me! I can write, but I never said I could draw (and this proves it!), however most fan artists are more interested in drawing the more classic characters, whilst I’m more interested in writing about the obscure guys. Hey, everyone was obscure once, you’ve got to give them a chance!

Chasing The Cards
The Transformers: Mosaic project is a fan-based project to get artists and writers working together to create fancomics. It grew out of a similar but much smaller project on the forum The Allspark which I was part of. Below is my piece, entitled ‘Chasing The Cards’ which was later released as a Mosaic. I did the writing and the art, and my friend Mark did the colours. His amazing colouring saves my art because really, I can’t draw!
Personally I’d like to have rewritten it because it doesn’t really flow all that well, but it is here in its original form for the sake of posterity.

The Olde Ande Epice Talee Ofe Ae Tene-Quide Notee
By Matt Marshall, esq
1. EXT. BANK. DAY
[Two posh people, SIR CHAS and SIR DAVE are standing outside the bank, with top hats, monacles, slaves on chains behind them, the works]
SIR CHAS: What ho, my good man, Sir Dave. A fine morn
SIR DAVE: Hip hip tally buddy-buddy. I made several billion pounds this morning from my immoral and illegal activities financing drug running in Columbia
SIR CHAS: Oh splendid. Drug running? I love the races. › Continue reading
MASK – The Secret Origin
Everyone has heard of MASK, who fought the fiendish forces of VENOM with only plastic headgear to help them… but how did it really begin? After Matt Trakker’s amazing inventions were stolen by his crooked boss, Miles Mayhem? No, of course not – who would be stupid enough to work for someone with the surname “Mayhem”? The real, unedited, sordid tale, is told in it’s entirety below. You have been warned.

Early one morning, Matt comes across his son, Scott, on his way to school. › Continue reading
Hardcore Roleplay 2
Don’t run! The below is a rather stupidly entertaining log from the Transformers 2k5 online roleplay game. Yes, ha-ha, silly Matt. (If you want to join up, get a decent telnet client such as Mushclient and connect to tf2005.net port: 5555
I’m Blueshift, by the way. And I rule.

Journey To The Bottom Of The Earth
Venturing into my attic today for what might be the last time in months, I found a box of all my old primary school junk. And yes, you know that that means, lucky lucky lucky… This story was different, however – I’d explain it, but I think myself as a kid in the introduction to this epic novel will suffice…
Oh, and I couldn’t shut the attic door, so it’s going to randomly swing down and decapitate someone. Peachy.

Hardcore Roleplay
Today, I’m going to treat you to…something different. Some of my real-life (gasp!) friends regularly roleplay on MSN in a hardcore manner. These dedicated gamers were in trouble tonight though, since their regular storyteller got ‘a life’. It was up to me to fill in and help these poor souls gain a precious few seconds entertainment in their barren, empty lives. And yes, I know they’re reading this. › Continue reading
More Of Little Matty Boy’s Comics
At the tender age of around 10, I was already trailblazing with genius comics. Here are some more of the incredible works I produced
The Adventures of Bertie Bun and Combat Wombat.
Oh dear…
The Secret Door
In a lame attempt at getting out of putting any effort whatsoever in today’s article, I just scanned in my second epic tale from primary school, a sequel to “Adventure On The Island.” Bet you were looking forward to this, eh?
There are a number of points to be made. Firstly, this was the first tale to be written on computer (the school’s hi-tech Acorn, with it’s 5 inch floppies) and… well, it’s just interesting, dammit. Secondly, whilst again I have put the text down here as I originally wrote it, I have taken the liberty of finally correcting a mistake made by the teacher, after I forced her to type it up, namely replacing the word “rocket” with “rock” in chapter 4, thus making the story make sense again. You will not believe how pissed off I was at the time. › Continue reading
