My review of “Revenge of the Fallen” is pretty similar to yours; I don’t outright hate this movie, which makes it an improvement over the first one, but otherwise give me a break.
You’re also the first person I’ve heard point out that Fallen originally came from the fertile mind of Simon Furman. I hope he at least got a check out of all this mess…!

Transformers movie rocks. i am a fan of Transformers ever since childhood. Now i have three kids and they all like the Transformers cartoon series and the Movie.

I find it funny that you give us only this breif update out of oblivion and then leave us naked and updateless for the rest of the time. Could you please get off your lazy duff and actually give us some more updates? OR does university extend for longer in the UK than it does in the US, which if so makes the lack of updateage understandable.

Saw it this afternoon. One would have wished Michael Bay would have learned from what did and didn’t work on the first one, but sadly that was too much to hope for – yet again we get bits of seven OK movies bolted together into one unpalatable, overlong monstrosity: there’s an SF apocalypse flick, a funny animated robot thing, a very serious war movie about Iraq and stuff and, most baffling of all, an American Pie pastiche.

There’s nothing too wrong with any of these individual bits (although the scripting does suck quite badly), but together they left me punch drunk, and I was pretty much having an out-of-body experience for the rest of the film.

Goddammit, Michael Bay. Just… goddammit.

Other than the rather obvious plot holes, my only beef with the movie was Soundwave. I mean, sure, he’s cool, and I liked how they fitted the ‘minions’ idea, but near the climax, when Megatron yells ‘Decepticons attack!’ and all the “meteors” come down, I feel that Soundwave should have fought as well. Remember in the first episode of the original cartoon, when the ships are docked and Soundwave is effortlessly fighting off four or five Autobots? When did he become such a coward, floating around in space? I envisioned a scene where he takes out an Autobot, and perhaps fed the fanboys a bit with the famous ‘Soundwave superior’ line. With the vocoder voice. Why didn’t he have the vocoder voice?

Two and a half hours for a Transformers film is a bit much. Still I am looking forward to seeing some explosions when I see it on Friday.
